Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 4 months since I posted last. Talk about terrible. I can sit here and come up with reasons why I haven’t, but that would be silly. The point is, I haven’t done it. While it’s disappointing, I can’t do anything about it so it’s time to move forward.
The last month has been pretty busy for me. I moved to Seattle which is incredibly exciting. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but just didn’t have the nerve to do it. I finally decided to take a risk and we packed and left. I like having a solid plan before making any decisions, so this was completely out of character for me. I left without having a job already in place, which many people thought was majorly stupid. To be honest, I kind of did too. I had built up my savings account so that I could give myself some time to get settled and find a job. And to be quite honest, that job was sucking the life out of me anyway. I didn’t love it, it wasn’t enriching, I didn’t feel like I was making an impact on anything really, and even after being with the company for over 5 years, I didn’t feel like they had my back. While this is a big and scary step for me, I still think that it’s going to turn out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to actually launch this blog and steadily post.
As for the city itself, I love it. There is so much to do and see. The weather is amazing and the temperature is nice. Fun fact that I found out the other day: Not many people have air conditioners in their homes… the temperatures are that nice. I moved from Arizona and hate the heat, so this is definitely going to be a nice change. Everybody seems really friendly, which makes my life so much easier. I’m an introvert (see title of blog ;P) so meeting new people isn’t exactly my forte. When they’re nice, it makes it easier. I can’t wait to keep exploring and really get to know the city.
Back to the main purpose of this post…. well there really isn’t one aside from getting going again haha. But since I don’t currently have a job, and we are pretty much settled in at this point, I’ve got all the time in the world. But, I’m not going to broadcast how much I’ll be posting (*cough cough* I may have done that previously). I’m just going to do it. But I’ll leave you with the first picture I took here.
