20 Day Self-Care Challenge

As you can see, self-care is a hot topic with me right now. I’ve got a lot of time on my hands and I’ve decided that after so much time spent investing in other people, it’s time to invest my time in me. It’s actually something I’m pretty excited about! I love having time to myself to reflect on anything and everything. It’s actually one of the biggest things that keeps me motivated.

Anyway, I figured that since I’ll be blogging regularly, I should probably figure out how to design and edit photos. While I did enjoy the Kermit picture in my previous post, it wasn’t mine. I found it in a search engine that allows you to use their pics. I prefer to include things that I’ve created. It will most likely take a while to do, but over time I should be able to build up a pretty good arsenal.

For our 20 day self-care challenge, I decided to design this little guy down below. I figured that it would be more visually appealing than to just list out our 20 daily challenges. I found a free editing and designing site called BeFunky. Since I’m not 100% sure what all I will be needing to do yet, I figured free would be the best route to go… **Cough** not to mention the lack of a job…

Well this is my first try with designing something. It took me forever and I had to tweak a lot. This is probably the 7th time I’ve attached the image. Either it was too blurry or you couldn’t read the text because it was too small. There was also a nice background picture of a sunset, but it was making some of the items illegible. To give you even more insight, this post was originally titled, “30 Day Self-Care Challenge” not 20. Sure I could have just listed the whole thing after the pic, but that’s no fun. I wanted it to be pretty, what can I say?

Without anymore side tracking, I now present you with our 20 Day Self-Care Challenge!

Like I said before, it was originally 30 days, so unfortunately some items did get cut. A few honorable mentions include paying it forward, create a vision board, do/learn something new… you get the gist I’m sure. I also combined a few of things so that I didn’t have to cut as much (#16 for example). I’m still happy with what was included and am looking forward to starting! My plan is to create a post for each daily challenge to share my progress and key learnings. Yay for a guaranteed 20 days of writing!

You might (or maybe not) be wondering  about why all of these self-care challenges are pretty much solo activities. Well, 2 reasons:

Reason number 1. Uhhhh… this blog is titled The Wandering Introvert. Not saying that everything that I include here will be introvert related, but when I think of self-care, I think of things that I enjoy doing…alone…because I’m an introvert….LOL.

Reason number 2. When you really think about self-care, it’s all about YOU, not other people. This is your time to invest in yourself. Sure, group activities are all fine and good, but it’s not all about you. There’s no “I” in team! Yea, I just went there.

***Random Fact Alert!!!***  For those of you who may not know, my favorite show is Grey’s Anatomy. Yea yea, I know. There are a lot of haters out there, but I love it! I just wanted to point this out because dancing it out is a classic Meredith Grey activity ;P. So I’m looking forward to #15 and #16!

Well, that’s about all I’ve got for you tonight. I used the majority of my time messing with BeFunky, which was fun, but now I’m a little tired. Tomorrow we start Day 1!
